Well, looks like I'm back down to 5 prospective agents. Just got a R ... and I really REALLY wanted that one too. Again, the issue was with my voice. That's 3 agents who have cited voice/tone as the reason for their rejection. What to do? How do I change the entire voice of my novel?! And what about the agent who said she LOVED my MC's voice???

ReplyDeleteBut think - you're getting PERSONALISED rejections. That means the agents see potential in you and your manuscript - if they thought you were a lost cause you'd get a form rejection. (Not saying all forms are for lost causes, obvs). Good luck with querying x
